iPad 3 Play Downloaded .avi files?
I’m trying to figure out if the new iPad is able to play movies (fromatted .avi DiVx) I’ve downloaded from Torrents… Can never seem to add those files to my iPad…
The answer is Possible. Most of you may have lots of AVI videos and want to put and play them on your new iPad 3. However, due to the restriction of file type on the Apple tablet (.mov, .m4v, .mp4), playback is a blue moon.
Despite lack of offical support, we can watch AVI movies on new iPad 3. According to my own experience, converting avi to new iPad 3 mp4 format is the easiest and ultimate solution. I ever once got the same problem, and tried to look for a video player than can play all avi and divx videos. After several attempts, I found the media player still have format limitation – only part of the AVI files can be played well, some can be played but with poor quality, some even can’t be recognized. Finally, I saw Pavtube mentioned in the iPad forums as a good way to convert for the new iPad 3 so I decided to try it. As a result, the videos look decent and smooth on my iPad 3.
